Chicago Cubs Tickets
Is this really the Chicago Cubs? Did Cubs tickets give fans a shocking 97 wins in the regular season? They did, and capped that off with a trip to the post-season and a few more victories. For a team that has been mired in drought for decades, the 2016 Chicago Cubs are looking pretty darn good right now. What’s even better? This Chicago team is built for the long term and investing in Cubs tickets right now could reap huge rewards for years to come.
The Hitter – What gives these Chicago Cubs such promise? Let’s take a look and let’s begin with the NL Rookie of the Year Kris Bryant. In his first season, Bryant blasted 26 home runs, brought home 99 RBI, and delivered an outstanding performance at 3rd base. Bryant is young and should improve on his strikeout rate, about the only knock on his performance. Shortsop Addison Russell hit .287, found a home in the infield, and is only 22 years old. He’s also developing into a very powerful hitter. Anthony Rizzo is a guy who can drive in runs and hit off any pitcher. Rizzo was behind only Bryant at .278, giving the Cubs some left handed batting power, and has become one of the better first basemen in the National League. Finally, Kyle Schwarber, paired with Jason Heyward, give the Chicago Cubs a solid outfield, though his best moments come at the plate.
Our Call – Cubs tickets will turn into MLB playoff tickets. This Cubs team is young and talented, and should be a force in the National League for the next few years. If all the pieces stay in place, this is a Cubs team that has the chance to end a World Series drought of 70 years. They should take a big step in 2016. After that, don’t count out the Chicago Cubs
Pitching – Chicago is hoping Jake Arrieta, now a Cy Young Award Winner, can repeat his sterling campaign of 2015. If he can he’ll see the mound on a regular basis. Or, it’s possible Jon Lester will take over a prime role, if he can overcome his penchant for allowing stolen bases. The Cubs management used free agency to nab John Lackey, who fits in neatly as a #3 guy, and the young Kyle Hendrick seems to be coming into his own. Overall, Cubs ticket holders will see a pitching rotation that allows Joe Maddon some flexibility and depth.
2015 Chicago Cubs Season
It took $30 million and a nine-year deal to swing the outfielder our way but what’s a few dollars when you’re searching for daylight. The fact is that other teams were willing to part with big bucks and Soler chose the Chicago Cubs. This is a gamble for certain. Soler has the potential to become one of the best outfielders in the majors. And it’s probably a season or two away before the Cuban can work his way out of the minors and join the grown up team but what’s a little time when you’re a Cubs fan?
The last time we met I was looking ahead to the Chicago Cubs vs Chicago White Sox series n our Cubs making a little noise. In Fact, I think I even expressed the idea that the Chicago Cubs could gather a little momentum and move on with some confidence after that. As most of you know I suck at forecasting, using mostly blind hope as my motivation.
The Cubs let me down as they are wont to do, losing all three games in the series to the White Sox and followed that with another three losses to the Houston Astros and topped it by losing the 1-0 in their first game with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates for god’s sake. It’s time for me to buckle down and put my Chicago Cubs hat on and just grin and bear it. I’m a dedicated Chicago Cubs fans and nothing gets me down.
So now I’m going to once again stick my neck out and call the Cubs towin this next game against the Pirates. Give me something here guys. From there we’re heading out for a series with the Padres in which I hope to see glimmers of hope emerging. By the time the Cubs get back to Chicago on June 12th to play the Detroit Tigers in Wrigley, we’ll be back on track. This is just a bad spell and it’s over. You’ll see.
As a Chicago Cubs fan you have to savor your victories when you get them and these last few days have been sweet indeed. Cubs tickets gave us a series victory over the St. Louis Cardinals at home in Wrigley Field where we could get our moneys worth and really enjoy the feeling.
Game 1 was a close one all the way and gave us Cubs fans a pretty thrilling finish as Joe Mather swatted a ninth-inning two-run single with two outs on the board to send the Cardinals back to their hotel unhappy and Chicago Cubs fans home smiling. It had to be sweet for Mathers too, as it came against his former team that sent him packing.
Game 2 was even more of a bargain. Fans got 10 innings of play and had their present wrapped up with a game winning Alfonso Soriano single even as the Cardinals got a little bent out of shape over some questionable calls. Earlier in the game Tony Campana was riled safe at second and the ensuing conversation between the umpire and Cardinals Manager Mike Matheny ended up with Matheny being ejected.
Chicago Cubs Tickets – Riding the Wave
Cubs tickets riding a new wave of popularity. For too may seasons the Chicago Cubs were a likeable and hapless bunch, prone to being streaky, and breaking the hearts of Chicago baseball fans. Now that the club seems to be on more solid footing on the field and long term plans are in place with the new owners, Cubs ticket holders are hoping for an injury free season in 2015, one that could erase the memories of a late season fade.
Cubs Tickets – Piniella Pulls Out the Stops?
Having Lou Piniella at the helm of the Chicago Cubs has been a godsend. His experience and steady hand have guided the Cubs to a consistent winning style and bred hope for the future. Now as the 2015 Chicago Cubs look to challenge in the NL Central, expectations are that Piniella will throw everything he’s got at the opposition to cement a return and a long term deal.
And there’s no doubt Cubs ticket holders would like to the vet at the helm again. But Piniella will need a little better luck to garner a long term deal. Injuries and weak trades derailed Chicago, an effect felt late in the season as the club dropped from a neck and neck division race to falling out of the money. DL time for 3rd baseman Aramis Ramirez and outfielder Alfonso Soriano, as well as NL Rookie of the Year Geovany Soto, crippled the Cubs offense.
Cubs Pitching – Entering a Comfort Zone
The Chicago Cubs can at least throw a solid starting rotation on to the mound. Carlos Zambrano had his ups and downs last season, but his troughs yielded a 9-7 record and 3.77 ERA. Expect Piniella to pick and choose his spots in the 2015 MLB season. Ryan Dempster is experienced and crafty, but he’s another pitcher that needs careful handling. Ted Lilly isn’t expected to start the season so Randy Wells will be called upon to fill in the gap. Wells won 12 games last season and posted a 3.05 ERA. The #5 spot in the rotation is up for grabs, with either Carlos Silva or Tom Gorzelanny looking to win the position.
Cubs Tickets – The NL Central Battle
The Cubs will have their hands full in the NL Central. Struggling in 2009 means baseball pundits are calling for a race between the Cubs and Cardinals for dominance in the division. With the Cardinals offense led by Albert Pujols and the defense featuring Chris Carpenter, Chicago will have to stay healthy and play steady ball to keep up. The Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds are still building a talent pool while the Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Pirates look to be the weak links. So, it’s up to the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals to make a race in the NL Central. With just a dab of luck on their sides, Cubs ticket holders could be enjoying playoff tickets again in 2016.
